Alrighty then, let's get going on this. This week was pretty good, but it went by pretty fast. It's weird to think I've almost been out for a quarter of my mission but I hope I'll stay up north here, even though it's a hard area it's fun. Monday we had dinner at the branch president's house, he's one of the farthest away from the chapel because they live on a farm out on dirt roads, but he's got a pretty sardonic sense of humor thats really funny.
Tuesday we had district meeting over skype, found for most of the day so not much happened.
Wednesday we went to an investigators house who claimed he could cut hair, so Elder Hausia let him give him a cut that ended up looking pretty dang bad, so we called up one of the members who also cuts hair and he gave Elder Hausia and emergency clean up. It still doesn't look great but they did all they could do, haha. We visited a less active family who makes the missionaries prove themselves in pool before listening to a lesson.
One of the overarching themes of this week was that we were able to teach a few discussions while we were door knocking and running into people who have been definitely prepared to have the gospel. One was a lady who grew up with one of the counselors in the district presidency's family, but hasn't seen them in years and wants to learn more about our church. Another was an old Seventh Day Adventist who told us he's looking for something to strengthen his faith and bring him closer to Christ. We also found a few solid potentials as well. So the Lord definitely has blessed us this last week in return for our commitment to be more bold while finding, to fully present our message so people can make an informed decision about whether or not they're interested.
Friday night the adults had a self reliance class, and while they were doing that we watched all the kids. It was pretty intense trying to get them all to agree on one game to play and to keep them from getting into fights but it was really fun too.
Yesterday while we were door knocking this old German guy invited us in and talked to us for a while, he was asking us about our faith and talked to us about the Lutheran church, and he was also talking about how when he was 19 or something he escaped from communist east Germany into west Germany, and how Catholic doctrine is pretty much communist propaganda, and how England is responsible for starting the first world war. Pretty good guy, he invited us back to have another talk. Besides that things are going well, realized it's only a couple months until that Doctor Strange movie comes out and I'm trying to convince myself they definitely haven't come out with a trailer yet even though I know they have because it's only a couple months away and blEH anyways everyone's got things they sacrificed for a mission so I should be glad it's just movies and video games that I'm missing. Back to the ministry, keeping the faith and fighting a good fight and all.
