Hello all, we had transfers today, and it was me on the chopping block. I've been transferred back down south closer to Brisbane, to a city called Logan. Yes, like Utah. But not in Utah. Finished training my Canadian son (greenie) Elder Bullock. My new companion is a Filipino, named Elder Malobogo. Or something. Since I doubt anyone reading these, other than my family, is keeping score (which is just fine, I have no idea how many areas/companions my other friends on missions have had. Sorry, guys) Here's the stats:
I'm 11 1/2 months in.
I'm in my 3rd area now.
Elder Malobogo is my sixth companion.
I served in my last area (Atherton) for 5 transfers-or about 7 months.
Our last week was honestly pretty slow. There's a lot of good stuff about to happen in Atherton but now I leave it into Elder Bullock and Elder Afable's hands. Last p-day we as a zone went to this village in the rainforest-Kuranda. It was a really cool tourist spot. We hiked to some waterfalls. I bought a Ned Kelly t-shirt, which is something I've been looking for for a long time. Ned Kelly is this famous Australian outlaw kind of like Billy the Kid. We wandered through all the tourist shops there.
So, yeah. Sunday after church we went around saying goodbye to everyone. I'll really miss Atherton. But where I am now-Logan-is a heavily Polynesian area so the eating will be good. Plus Logan zone is a really baptizing zone. Plus me and my new zone leader Elder Smoot found out we're like third cousins or something. So we're related---distantly. So, yeah. Here I am now. Feels weird being back in the city. We have traffic lights now. I'm still the driver but it'll be a lot more intense now. Dang. Sunday night we had dinner at the Koses with the Clarks too. Probably my favorite two families. The Clarks are---or rather, were the part member family from which we baptized the son and the mom in the last few months and the dad's been reactivated and got the Melchizedek priesthood last week. So yeah, that was awesome. Feels weird getting to a new area.
Anyways. Have a good day.
Elder Cummings
