Hey everyone so I'm not sure if this is a worldwide thing but there's some changes in the missionary schedule, the best of which is...p-day. Starts two hours. Earlier. So I get on email. Two hours. Earlier. It's the best. And p-day ends at the same time-6 pm-so we get two extra hours to do whatever.
This week we did heaps of service. This one guy from Michigan asked us to dig a garden for his family so they could plant papayas trees and other stuff so we did a couple hours of that. The dirt is red and stains so it's really hard to wash out but the family's really nice. For the moment they're not investigators but we're really hoping they become so.
My companion's been telling me about stuff that's happened since I came out. There's the whole clown thing that happened around Halloween, but that even made it's way over here so I already knew about that. But he also told be about Harambe some gorilla at a zoo that got put down and everyone wants justice for Harambe, something like that. Plus there's a couple of those random viral things. This YM here in the branch told us about this new viral thing called the Goku challenge where you go into a supermarket and scream at the top of your lungs. So I can see that the real world is still the same old, haha.
Thursday we went to Cairns for interviews with President McSwain. He told us about the changes they're making to the missionary schedule but technically they're not officially announced until the worldwide missionary training broadcast later this week. But since President McSwain loves our zone he said we could start implementing it right away even though the rest of the mission won't even hear about it until the broadcast. 😏
I can't remember a whole lot from this week because it's probably been the fastest week of my mission but it was a pretty good week. Sunday the convert we baptized (the kid) a few months ago got the Aaronic priesthood from his dad, who got married and ordained a priest in the last couple weeks that I've mentioned. Really cool to see. Reminded me of the time I got the Aaronic Priesthood and my dad messed it up or something. I don't remember a whole lot but I think he said it was by the authority of the Melchizedek priesthood instead of the Aaronic priesthood. Something like that.
So yeah pretty short email this week. So that's the kind of week it's been this week and I hope it's been a kind one to you!
Elder Cummings
